WHAT IS AN ESCAPE ROOM?

Escape rooms are an interactive adventure game in which players discover hidden clues and unravel puzzles in order to complete a mission or escape the room within one hour. By solving each puzzle, you will be provided more clues in order to progress further until you unlock all the secrets or time runs out. Check out our themed rooms here!

 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Everyone can participate! Portsmouth Escape Room is great for families, date night, a group of friends, as a bachelorette party or even as a fun corporate team building exercise.

 

Please note -- children 14 and younger must be accompanied by at least one responsible adult in the room. Everyone in the room must purchase a ticket regardless of age (unless it's an infant in a carrier).

 

AM I REALLY LOCKED IN?

Nope. The door will close behind you, but you can walk out of the room at any time, there is always an unlocked door. At Portsmouth Escape Room, we take safety seriously!

 

IS IT SCARY?

Our games are not meant to be scary, and while there are no scare jumps, some might consider specific themes "creepy". From our current games, The Surgeon has a darker theme and set design. Westower's Study, The Dojo and Secret Lab are well lit and not frightening at all.

 

SOUNDS AWESOME - WHAT IS THE COST? HOW DO I BOOK?

All games are currently private. The cost is $40 per person for groups of 3 or less, and $30 per person for groups larger of 4 or more. This tiered pricing allow us to provide smaller groups with a private experience while keeping our business afloat.

 

Note: Special requests for private events outside our normal operating hours are priced $300 per room (up to 10 participants per game).

CAN I BUY A GIFT CERTIFICATE?

Yes, you can! You can purchase your Portsmouth Escape Room gift voucher online and create your own certificate to print or email, or you can buy a physical gift certificate in-store. Click here to buy a gift voucher.

CAN I BOOK A GAME OUTSIDE NORMAL OPERATING HOURS?

Absolutely! We are available every day by request. Private parties and corporate groups are welcomed at our escape room in Portsmouth at any time (special pricing may apply). We can accommodate multiple rooms at once for larger groups. ARE ESCAPE ROOMS GOOD FOR TEAM BUILDING?

Yes! Escape Rooms are a very popular team building activity. If you would like to hear more about escape rooms as a team building exercise, check out our team building section here! We are available for private groups and events every day by request.

CAN I RESCHEDULE OR GET A REFUND IF MY PLANS CHANGE?

All bookings are final. We cannot reschedule or give refunds in case of cancellation, lateness or no-show. Just like a concert or a movie, you cannot reschedule or get a refund because your plans changed. If you book a whole room and some of your friends don't show up, we cannot offer partial refunds or credit either.

I AM RUNNING LATE, CAN I STILL PLAY?

Yes, you may still play but time will be deducted. Please make sure to be on site 10 to15 mins before game time to go to restroom, go over instructions, etc... Games will start exactly on time!
